Thanksgiving 2009

This weekend we celebrated Thanksgiving in Connecticut, and we had much to celebrate. Silas was born a month ago and is doing amazingly well. In his first month of life, he has undergone neurosurgery (twice) and spent two weeks in Children's Hospital Boston. He is now home with mom and dad in New Haven and enjoying life -- still kicking his legs and moving his little toes.

Here are some highlights from Silas's first Thanksgiving:

Aunt Mindi and Grandma came out to visit from California...

(Grandpa got sick at the last minute and had to stay home. We missed him a lot. Thankfully, he's doing much better now, but it was a bad cold and he didn't want to risk giving any bugs to the baby.)

Aunt Mindi gets to sleep in with Silas...

David and Lindsay came up to visit from Baltimore.

Before dinner, we went for a walk around the neighborhood...

Silas showed off his superman outfit from grandma...

Aunt Mindi brought out the appetizers...

David cut the bird...

Grandma and Mindi cooked the delicious meal and we all celebrated Thanksgiving dinner.

After dinner we relaxed by the fire and took turns holding the baby.

Silas relaxed with mom after a big day.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Thanks to all of you for your thoughts and prayers this past month. We are so thankful for Silas and the joy he brings us every day.
