When we left San Luis Obispo in August we had not made any preparations at our home for a baby. Sada was relieved to have been spared the "nesting" stage, but when we got back to SLO we turned our guestroom/office into a baby's room. Grandma and Grandpa were in town for Christmas and were so helpful getting us settled. We still haven't finished unpacking our suitcases, but it feels good to know that our family is home. We all love the warm sunshine and walks in the park.

Since Silas's Uncle Jason was also born with spina bifida, he has a lot to teach Silas as he grows up about being patient, independent, and courageous. Maybe someday he'll teach him how to be an awesome big brother!

Aunt Mindi and Tom came up to celebrate a late Christmas and play the Christmas Bowl. Based upon close scrutiny of game footage, it was unanimously decided that "we like Tom."

Bath times are some of our favorite times. Silas is a swimmer. (They only had pink bathtubs at the store.)

We are so happy that Silas will have such cool cousins in town. Claire has volunteered to teach him to dance and Joe will teach him to skate. They'll share the duty of instructing him on the finer points of Lego Rock Band.
Silas is doing well. He is growing like a weed. When one of us is away for a few hours, we come back and swear he grew an inch. He's getting more "vocal" and we love interacting with him, especially during his exercise time. He has strong legs and arms, complete with a gorilla-like grip. His head seems to have a bit more pressure, but we are hoping this is a normal growth pattern and that the ultrasound scheduled for this Friday at UCSF will confirm that.
